Tuesdays Blog

What a relaxing day, I seemed to cruze through it as though everything was taken care of before I attended to it. Yes I still had to “work”, but everything just went as I wanted it to.

One of my highlights was drawing pictures in the sand early this morning. Gabby came with to drop Ethan at the bus and then we went to West Beach to go build sand castles. We ended up drawing pictures on the sand, it was great. We drew a big old crab, stars, shapes, houses and we wer just been creative. The mind of a child is a beautiful thing. We laughed at the drawings and for once I didn’t care whether my crab looked like a crab or not. We just enjoyed the time on the beach, we wer in the moment not concerned with what lay ahead.

At the ofice this morning I thought I would get an early start and tackle a claim that was not going the way we wanted. We wanted a particular vehicle written off and itnseemed very likely that it would be repaired. I had spent some time over the weekend thinking about the claim and what the best outcome would be for our client. I had visualized the vehicle been written off (a fact which was seeming less likely to happen daily) and that all would be finalized by the end of business on Tuesday. So I decided to get cracking, first thing I did was call the client at 7:30, I told him about my take on the situation and I informed him that I would contact the assessor just afte 8 and try persuade him to give us the benefit of the doubt and hopefully with a little luck we could suceed. Well before I had managed to try get hold of the assessor th panelbeate called and said that he is writing the vehicle off. We were at the panelbeaters yesterday just before close of business and they were adamant that repairs were possible and the damage was minor.

Wow, take that, my day hadn’t even started and my BIG project for the day was done. I could hardly contain my excitement and I just wanted to contact the client, however I had to make sure that the assessor would agree to write the vehicle off. I went to discuss the claim with my dad and whilst we were discussing the claim a call came through and it was the assessor, he called to advise that the vehicle would not be repaired. Job done and the time was about ten past eight. Awesome hey, now I am not saying that just because of the visualization the car was written off, but it it sure did help me feel in full control of the situation and it was not something that worried me to the point that I could not focus on anything else at work. Did visualization work? I would have to say absolutley. Maybe not in the way that some people might expect but for me the outcome was almost exactly as I imagined, the only difference was that I had seen it taking till the end of today, not to be over before the day began.

Yesterday I read my new goals to Bronwyn and somehow managed to cut and paste some other arb note on the sheet and I lost them. Pretty bummed as they were well thought out, achievable, beneficial goals. The beauty about it though ismthat tonight I will rewrite them and make them bigger and better. Why not? After all this is my story and I can make it up as I go along.
